My retirement adventure is nearly here

Well, here it is – the first post of a new chapter, a new life, and a new adventure!

I was born, grew up, and spent most of my life in Devon. But, for retirement, I wanted it to be different – an adventure and not just a case of stopping work. So, instead of finding a flat in Devon or nearby, I decided to move somewhere completely new – a place I have never even visited before.

My new home will be in Kilwinning in North Ayrshire. Three kilometres from the coast and, not much further, a park with moorlands and nature galore. Glasgow is only half and hour on the train, and then Edinburgh, the highlands, and the rest of Scotland to visit. Hopefully I won’t be getting bored in my retirement.

This blog will be my journal, my photo album, and my record of this incredible journey. It will chronicle the ups and downs of settling into a completely new place and the thrill of exploring an entirely new country.
