Shopping heaven

After being so isolated in Devon, where the nearest proper shop was two miles away and the biggest shops were an hour’s drive away, Kilwinning is shopping heaven.

Not actually Kilwinning, but Irvine which is 4 miles down a dual carriageway to the south. Park in the Rivergate shopping centre car park (free) and these shops are all within walking distance:

• Marks and Spencers
• McDonalds
• Currys
• Next
• Sainsburys
• Aldi
• SpecSavers
• Boots
• Superdrug

and lots more.

Even Kilwinning has three mini-supermarkets in its main street which is quite small. It’s going to take a long time to explore everything.
